Chicago Fire FC and Footovision Announce Exciting Partnership for 2024 MLS Season

Footovision and Chicago Fire F.C. are delighted to announce a unique partnership during the 2024 MLS season.

Throughout the course of the 2024 season, Chicago Fire will utilise Footovision’s innovative analysis platform, Coachvision, providing them with detailed and customizable performance analysis insights. The partnership will ensure that the Fire’s data analytics, performance analysis, sports science departments and coaching staff, all benefit from Footovision’s unique and comprehensive analysis insights.

Chicago Fire’s Director of Analytics, Kevin Minkus stated: We are thrilled to bring in Coachvision to augment our day-to-day performance analysis processes. Coachvision's powerful capabilities across video and data analysis will improve our ability to understand ourselves and our opponents, in every phase of play. Their hands-on support was instrumental in already getting us up and running quickly on the platform, and we are excited for the benefits the partnership will continue to bear.

Coachvision allows users to find detailed performance insights by synchronising merged tracking and event data, made accessible through fully customisable dashboards. Insights can be reviewed and filtered through customisable widgets and exported via industry-standard outputs (such as XML, MP4, JPEG, PDF), as required.

Gavin Greenberg, Data Analyst at the Fire gave his thoughts on the partnership so far. With Coachvision's synchronization of event data, tracking data, and video analysis tools we have been able to save hours of our weekly process while not giving up any of the philosophy of data guiding video. The platform is customizable, easy to use, and adds in video elements such as types of movements that really help us find trends before looking at the film. Having it all in one place has let us circle through this process until we feel we have a match between the data driven insight and the eye test that coaches so often rely on.

Footovision uses AI as well as Data Science methods to create unique and advanced performance analysis insights

Steve Watt, Business Development Manager at Footovision, said We’re really excited to be working with Kevin and the team at Chicago Fire this season, providing them with innovative performance analysis solutions to enhance their existing workflows and outputs. At Footovision, we pride ourselves in offering bespoke and customisable analysis solutions to all our customers and I’m really happy that we’ll be delivering on that for the Fire throughout the 2024 season.
